Follow The Light OUT NOW on Seventh Sign

New Itokim single, "Follow The Light", is available for download from fine digital retailers like Juno Download and Zero Inch.

For our seventeenth release on Seventh Sign Recordings, we welcome some electronic beauty from Japanese sensation Itokim, who presents his "Follow the Light EP."

We begin with "Moonlight", with its shivery atmosphere and spellbinding melodies. Burning slowly with confident ease, this track builds in a very satisfying way, teasing and drawing you in before dropping into the grooviest of hooks, taking what is in your head onto the dance floor. Wonderful track.

"Sunlight" comes in next. Changing the mood, this brilliant track blends nice Detroitish moods with a rolling bassline, dramatic stabs and some neat drops and lifts. This offers a dance floor-friendly flourish that retains the unique character of the Itokim sound.

Solab offer up a remix of "Sunlight" as the last track in the group. Delivering something else altogether, Ross and Graham have twisted the track into something that retains the melody and the musicality of the original but injects some extra power into the rhythm track and adds some character all of their own. This version likes to crunch from section to section, building drama as it rolls along.

  • very, very nice release!!! i think my favourite is moonlight —Jeroen Search
  • quality as usual - feeling both og's and i also like the solab mix. great ep. —Dave Mothersole
  • All three tracks are great -- they have a very classic feel, but they don't get stuck in reproduction of a sound. "Moonlight" reminds me a little bit of old Apollo/R&S material, very ethereal but with a backbone. "Sunlight (Solab Mix)" is surprisingly powerful, it comes on slowly but it's a real mover of a track. And "Sunlight" might be my favorite of them all -- there's a ton of life and movement in the track, from the bassline to the chords to the electronic birdsong above. Lovely, lovely stuff. —Philip Sherburne
  • Thank you for this release!!! This is probably the best Ive heard from you so far. 'Moonlight' is just so atmospheric. Futuristic yet old-school. I can see myself playing this in my deeper sets in small dark rooms. Same goes for 'Sunlight' although this is much more peaktime orientated. The strings, keys, and bassline just fuse so well together. Something very Belgian or Dutch about it and I mean that in a good way as in Fabrice Lig/old Duplex material. Fantastic work —Jamie Behan
  • Sunlight is my favourite ! Excellent track really soulful and great melodies ! —Fabrice Lig
